A Brazilian professional footballer, Weverton Pereira da Silva (born 13 December 1987) is known simply as Weverton and plays goalkeeping for Palmeiras and the Brazil national team. When Weverton was 19 years old, he joined the Corinthians. In 2007, he joined the maid squad after impressing the coach. After Rafael Santos took his position, he fell down the pecking order and soon lost his position. After becoming the fourth-choice goalkeeper, he was loaned to Remo, Oeste, and América (RN). Between 2006 and 2009, he played for three different teams and made 31 appearances.
