Life Journey
Saoirse Una Ronan was born in the Bronx, New York City, on April 12, 1994, to Irish parents Monica and Paul Ronan, both from Dublin. Her father worked in construction and bartending before going to New York to study acting, and her mother was a nanny who had previously performed as a youngster.
She was schooled at Ardattin, County Carlow, for a brief period and studied at Ardattin National School. In her early adolescence, she returned to Dublin with her parents, who had relocated to the coastal hamlet of Howth. She was reared Catholic, although she claims to have had doubts about her faith since she was a youngster.

She went on to feature in a number of films, including Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones in 2009, as a murdered girl seeking closure and Hanna in 2011, as a teenage assassin, as well as a minor part as a baker in Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel in 2014.
