Raheem Shaquille Sterling, born 8 December 1994, is an English professional footballer who plays for Premier League club Manchester City and the England national team as a winger and attacking midfielder.
Sterling, who was born in Jamaica to Jamaican parents, went to London when he was five years old. He started his career at Queens Park Rangers before joining Liverpool in 2010. Club Career
Sterling played four years with local junior team Alpha & Omega before signing as a winger for Queens Park Rangers at the age of ten. Sterling was later scouted by Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Liverpool, and Manchester City academies. His mother, on the other hand, advised him not to frequent local clubs in order to avoid London’s nasty gang culture.
