Rafael Alexandre da Conceiço Leao, who was born on June 10, 1999, is a striker for the Portugal national team and Serie A club AC Milan. His Portuguese name is Rafael Alexandre da Conceiço Leo. Leo, a graduate of Sporting CP’s development system, made his first-team debut in 2018 and went on to win the 2017–18 Taça da Liga. However, after an incident within the club, he voluntarily terminated his contract. He soon signed on as a free agent with Lille in Ligue 1.
He joined AC Milan in 2019 for an alleged sum of €35 million. He assisted the squad in winning the 2021–22 Serie A, ending the club’s 11–year title drought, in his third season with the organization. He was also chosen as the Most Valuable Player in Serie A. Leo was a member of the under-17 squad that won the 2016 European Championship and has represented Portugal at several junior levels. Club Career
Sporting CP
- Leo, whose parents are from Angola and who was born in Almada, Setubal District, joined Sporting CP’s youth program at the age of 9 following a brief stay in Amora.
- He made his senior debut on May 21, 2017, while still a youngster, playing for the reserves, scoring in a 1-1 away tie against Braga B.
