Life Journey

In this article, Woodgram presents the full story of one of the greatest football defensive minds known as ‘The General’. In this version of Nicolas Otamendi Biography, you will find a full account of notable happenings that have taken place from his childhood to the present day.

The analysis of the Argentine and Man City Legend contains a description of his life before fame, family life, relationship life, and a lot of OFF-Pitch little-known facts about him.

Everyone knows about Nicolas Otamendi’s defensive abilities, but very few people are familiar with his biography, which is quite interesting. We will begin now, without any further ado.

Nicolas Hernin Gonzalo Otamendi was born on the 12th day of February 1988, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is an Aquarius by birth. He is the son of Argentine parents Mr. and Mrs. Heman Otamendi.

A native of El Talar, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Nicolas grew up in a small neighborhood. From an early age, he was multi-talented. Otamendi did in fact split his time between football and boxing when he was younger.

When he was growing up, he chose to divide his time between boxing and football, building his strength with his cousin in a local gym before deciding to devote all his energy to enjoy the beautiful game of football.

Nicola began his football career at Velez Sarsfield, a local club in Buenos Aires. During his time with the club, he played in both the youth and senior teams.

In the days when he was growing up, he was clearly comfortable in his childhood home. Nicolas continued to live at home with his father and mother even after he began to cement a regular place on the first team.

He was snapped up by Porto in August of that year after putting on an impressive performance at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Valencia paid €12m for defender Otamendi after he had enjoyed a successful two seasons, winning the Europa League and Portuguese trophies.

The Spanish club had to fight off interest from Chelsea, Barcelona, and AC Milan. When Otamendi refused to train or play with Valencia at one point, Manchester City saw an opportunity. It didn’t take them long to seize it and sign Otamendi for £28.5 million. I guess the rest of the story is history now.

It is believed that there is a glamorous woman who sits behind the Man City Legend. Nicolas Otamendi is married to his childhood sweetheart from Argentina. He was once spotted walking with his wife to a restaurant in the city center with his wife.

David Silva Bio, Age, Height, Weight, Brother, Son, Net Worth & Wiki

Pep Guardiola probably left him out of an important game because of that. Both the couples have a lovely son who looks a lot like his father.

It has also been reported that Nicolas Otamendi has other children whose details are being kept private. Among Otamendi’s nicknames is the General, which is a nod to the celebration of his goal, in which he salutes the fans. Otamendi is also known as El Mohicano. One of the reasons for his nickname is that he has a beard.

Our battle of the beards currently has Nicolas at the top of the list. The Argentine once admitted that his beard helps contribute to his aggressive and tough-guy image.

Although he is not entirely wrong, you can tell a lot of time and effort is put into tidying and shaping his facial hair, which, when combined with his modern hairstyle, wouldn’t leave him looking out of place.

In his words

“I started to let the beard grow at Valencia and I just liked it, so since then, it has become a big part of my personality.”

It is without a doubt that Otamendi’s beard, which accentuates his rugged looks, has contributed to a number of successful tackles during his career.

In his words

“My brother and my children, my father, my mother, and Finally, the face of my grandfather are inked in my body. To date, If I see a design that catches my eyes, I will go for it?”

In the case of Manchester City, Otamendi’s addition meant Argentina was considered once again to be the best-represented nation within the City squad thanks to his inclusion.

Argentinean defender Diego Mandzukic has become the sixth member of the Etihad team to take his place in the dressing room. In the past, he once revealed that one of the key factors in his decision to switch from Valencia to Manchester was the presence of his compatriot Sergio Aguero.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, he revealed: “Since the moment I spoke to Aguero at a Cops America match, the interest from City has always been attractive?

It is important to note that Otamendi shares his birthday with some illustrious figures of the past, including Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln. In recent years, actors Jesse Spencer and Josh Brolin have also blown out their candles on the same day as Nicolas.

To say the least, Antamendi is without a doubt, a record-breaker. Once upon a time, Real Madrid was enjoying their own record, which stood at 22 wins in a row, until the giants of the Spanish league crossed paths with the General, Nicolas Otamendi.

It was Cristiano Ronaldo who opened the scoring in the first half, but Valencia held firm to equalize soon after halftime, and the 6 foot General jumped high into the air to power home his header goal shortly after.

Real Madrid’s fantastic winning run that lasted for four months came to an end after this result.

Nicholas Otamendi comes from a middle-class family background, which is run by his father. The status of his family background has elevated as football investments have paid off. Mr. and Mrs. Hernan Otamendi live in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, as do both of his parents. It is reported that Nicolas Otamendi is very close to his mother.

There is really no better person to be Ottamandi’s idol than Roberto Ayala. When Otamendi was called up to Argentina’s World Cup squad in 2010, he started to garner comparisons with his compatriot Roberto Ayala, who played over a century of matches for La Albiceleste.

The years 2000 to 2007, the legendary defender (Ayala) spent seven years with Valencia. He was the one who helped persuade his young disciple (Nicolas Otamendi) to become a member of the club in 2014. Compression boots are considered by the General to be one of the best ways to boost his form and recover from stress and injury.

Moreover, these boots are designed to provide athletes with a post-workout boost and increase their blood circulation after they have completed their workout. As a result of this, he has the following attributes attached to his personality: He is progressive, original, independent, and has a humanitarian outlook.

  • It was during the third game of Vélez’ winning campaign that he replaced Ponce after the Chilean began suffering injuries while playing for his national team. He eventually established himself as a regular starter alongside Sebastián Dominguez, playing 17 of the 19 games during the season.
  • As I was writing this, Ottamendi scored his first professional goal during the 2009 Apertura season, in a 3-1 victory over Arsenal de Sarando.
  • It was during that same season that he also made his debut in an international club competition, appearing in the Copa Sudamericana.

  • As a result, he also scored in his first match for the club, a 2–0 win over SC Olhanense, and closed out his debut season with 15 appearances and five goals (notably both in a 2–0 away win against S.C. Braga) as the northerners won the Primeira Liga championship.
  • It was announced on 6 September 2011 that Porto would be exercising their right to sign the remainder of Otamendi’s playing rights.

  • After the match, he played the full 120 minutes as they won the Football League Cup on 28 February 2016, defeating Liverpool on penalties in the final.
  • I would like to recall that Otamendi scored the winning goal in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on 10 December 2017, extending City’s lead at the top of the Premier League to 11 points.
