Milos Degenek (born 28 April 1994) plays as a defender for Columbus FC. He represents the Australian national team. Due to his family’s emigration to Australia in 2000, he is eligible to play for Australia. Degenek was born in Knin, Croatia, the capital of the unrecognized proto-state Republic of Serbian Krajina. During Operation Storm in 1995, his family fled the Croatian War of Independence to the Yugoslav and Serbian capital Belgrade and lived there as refugees. His family migrated to Sydney, Australia, in 2000.
Dorde Degenek is Degenek’s brother. After joining Yokohama F. Marinos in 2018, Degenek learned Japanese in addition to Serbian. “My family supported me when I was a child.
