Bloomberg was born to William Bloomberg, an accountant for a dairy firm, & Charlotte Bloomberg on 14 February 1942, at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boston’s Brighton district. The Harvard Business School’s Bloomberg Center at the was titled after his father William’s honour.
