  • Schalke was the first club in which Manuel Neuer played as a professional footballer. He began his career at the club as an amateur, but his talents allowed him to pass through every age group barrier and he signed a professional contract in 2005. However, he did not begin playing for the club until the following year. In the second season, he was given the opportunity to play and was very successful.
