Keilor Antonio Navas Gamboa (born 15 December 1986), better known as Keylor Navas, is a Costa Rican professional football goalkeeper who plays for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and the Costa Rica national team. Navas began his youth career at Saprissa in his own country, where he won six Liga FPD championships and the CONCACAF Champions League.
He then went to Spanish club Albacete in 2010, and then to La Liga team Levante the following year, where he earned the LFP Award for Best Goalkeeper in his last season. Navas then joined Real Madrid for €10 million in 2014.

Keylor Navas Early Life
With Real Madrid, he won a total of twelve titles, including one La Liga title and three consecutive UEFA Champions League wins as the first-choice goalkeeper.
He was signed by the French club Paris Saint-Germain in 2019. Since his debut in 2008, Navas has made over 100 appearances for Costa Rica. He has represented his nation in two CONCACAF Gold Cups as well as the FIFA World Cups in 2014 and 2018. He was a member of the Costa Rica national team that advanced to the CONCACAF Gold Cup semi-finals in 2009 when he was awarded best goalie.
His outstanding performances also helped the squad reach the World Cup quarterfinals in 2014. Often regarded as one of the world’s top goalkeepers, the best in CONCACAF history, and one of the best in Latin American history. Navas has also received various individual honours.

Keylor Navas was reared in San Isidro del General by an impoverished household. He is an ardent Christian. He spoke about his faith, adding, “God comes first for me.” I kneel before every game, extend my arms, and pray… Galatians 1:10 is my favourite Bible verse: “If I were still seeking to satisfy man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

Saprissa
Navas made his professional debut with Deportivo Saprissa on November 6, 2005, in a Primera league match against Asociación Deportiva Carmelita.
In his final two seasons with the club, he was the first-choice keeper, winning six national titles and the 2005 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup. Navas was also a member of Saprissa’s third-place performance at the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship.
Albacete
Navas joined Albacete Balompié of Spain’s Segunda División in July 2010, precisely 20 years after countryman Luis Conejo did the same. During his debut season, he appeared in 36 of 42 games, but his club was relegated after finishing last.
Levante
Navas made his La Liga debut in 2011-12 after a year on loan at Levante UD. He made his tournament debut on 13 May 2012 in the final round, appearing in a 3-0 home win over Athletic Bilbao that clinched the club’s first ever qualifying for the UEFA Europa League, and signed a three-year contract with the Valencian club in July of same year.

Paris Saint-Germain
On 2 September 2019, Navas signed a four-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain, becoming the first Costa Rican to play for the men’s squad. Twelve days later, he made his Ligue 1 debut, preserving a clean sheet in a 1-0 home win over RC Strasbourg. Navas earned his 20th career club title on July 24, 2020, when he defeated Saint-Étienne in the Coupe de France final.
He preserved a clean sheet and saved a penalty attempt in the ensuing shootout as PSG defeated Lyon 6-5 on penalties in the 2020 Coupe de la Ligue Final on July 31. Navas’ 15th European title matched Rafael Márquez’s record for a CONCACAF player. Navas began his fourth Champions League final on August 23, 2020, losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich.
Despite playing 191 minutes less, he concluded the European season with 5 clean sheets, second only to Manuel Neuer. Navas began his second season with the Paris club as one of seven players who tested positive for COVID-19. Due of the quarantine rule, he missed the club’s first two games.
On September 16, 2020, Navas played his first game of the season, defeating Metz and maintaining a clean sheet. International Career
Youth Career And Early Senior Career
Navas was a member of Costa Rica’s national squad that competed in the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Finland. In August 2006, he was called up for the first time to the senior national squad for a friendly tournament in Europe against Austria and Switzerland.
He was a part of the Central American and Caribbean Games bronze medalists in 2006. Navas made his senior debut on 11 October 2008, in a 4-1 away victory over Suriname in the third round of FIFA World Cup qualifying, which advanced the team to the next level. Four days later, he maintained his first international clean sheet in a 2-0 win against Haiti at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa. 2014 World Cup
Navas made his FIFA World Cup debut on 14 June 2014, appearing in a 3-1 group stage win over Uruguay in Fortaleza, and starting the remaining two group games, conceding just one goal as Costa Rica qualified for the knockout rounds for the first time.
On June 29, in the round of 16 encounter against Greece, Navas was awarded man of the match after many saves in normal time and a stop against Theofanis Gekas’ attempt during the penalty shootout, allowing Costa Rica to advance to the quarter-finals for the first time.
He finished the tournament with three clean sheets in five games as his team was eliminated by the Netherlands in a penalty shootout, in which he was chosen man of the match for the third time, the only goalie to do so. He was also one of three nominees for the Golden Glove Award, but lost to Germany’s Manuel Neuer.
