Joao Pedro Cavaco Cancelo, a professional football player for Manchester City of the Premier League and the Portugal national team, was born on May 27, 1994. His Portuguese pronunciation is [uw kslu]. He is regarded as one of the top full-backs in the world and is creative, skilled, powerful, and adaptable. Cancelo joined Benfica’s reserve squad in 2012 after graduating from the club’s development program, and he was elevated to the main team two years later. Later, he went on loan to La Liga team Valencia for the 2014–15 campaign, and Los Ches made the transfer permanent in the summer of 2015.

Cancelo spent the 2017–18 Serie A season on loan with Inter Milan, where he was named to the league’s Team of the Year. Juventus, an Italian rival team, was interested in Cancelo as a result of his achievements, and they bought him in 2018 for a reported sum of €40.4 million. Cancelo won the league and the Supercoppa Italiana in his first and only season with the Bianconeri. Club Career


  • Cancelo began playing football with the neighborhood club Barreirense when he was a child in Barreiro, Setubal District.
