The son of international footballer Alan Davidson, Davidson was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. Effie, Jason’s mother, is the daughter of Greek immigrants, and his paternal grandmother is Japanese. Previously, he had played for Melbourne Victory, Ulsan Hyundai, Perth Glory, Groningen, Huddersfield Town, West Bromwich Albion, Heracles Almelo, Paços de Ferreira, and Hume City.
