Life of James Ward-Prowse

James Michael Edward Ward-Prowse was born on November 1, 1994. He is an English professional footballer who plays for Premier League club Southampton and the England national team as a center midfielder.

James Ward-Prowse was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, the son of lawyer John Ward-Prowse. Ward-Prowse has two younger siblings. They have an elder brother about whom little is known and a younger sister named Emma Turner. Ward-Prowse joined Southampton at the age of eight, despite his family’s allegiance for Portsmouth.

He joined the Southampton Academy at the age of eight after playing for East Lodge since the age of six. Club Career

Debut for Southampton (2011-2013)

Ward-Prowse was initially called up to the Southampton first squad in October 2011, when he made his debut in the League Cup against Crystal Palace at the age of 16. Ward-Prowse scored Southampton’s opening goal in a 2–1 win over Coventry City in his second start for the club, helping his side through to the FA Cup fourth round.

He made his Premier League debut for Southampton in the 2012–13 season. He played for the first 65 minutes of Southampton’s 3–2 loss against defending champions Manchester City. Manager Nigel Adkins praised his effort after the game, calling it “excellent.”

Following a substitute appearance against Wigan Athletic, the 17-year-old returned to the starting lineup for the third match of the season against Manchester United, earning acclaim from the media once again. International Career

Youth

James Ward-Prowse began his international career with England’s under-17 squad, where he earned seven caps in two tournaments between 2010 and 2011. In 2012, he advanced to the under-19 squad, where he played four times, and in 2013, he joined the under-20s for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey, where he played all three matches, none of which England won.

Ward-Prowse gained his first call-up to the England under-21 squad in August 2013, at the age of 18, which was for the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification matches against Moldova and Finland.
