He mostly appears in Hindi language film and also worked in over 13 languages including Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and more. Jackie Shroff was born on 01 February 1957 in Bombay (present Mumbai), Maharashtra, India. His father, Kakubhai Haribhai Shroff, was Gujarati and his mother was Turkmen from Kazakhstan. Shroff married his longtime girlfriend Ayesha Dutt, a model who later became a film producer. The couple runs a media company Jackie Shroff Entertainment Limited. They have two children, a son, Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff and a daughter, Krishna Shroff.

Jackie Shroff left school after his 11th standard as his family did not have enough money. He tried his hand working as an assistant chef at Taj Hotels and as a flight attendant at Air India, but he was expelled from both places because of his fewer qualifications. Jackie Shroff continued to work in Subhash Ghai films, irrespective of any role that was given. After Hero, he did many other movies including Andar Baahar, Jaanoo, and Yudh were hit. He acted in the film Karma, which became the highest-grossing movie of the year 1986. His next movie to be released was Kaash. Later movies including Dahleez and Sachche Ka Bol-Bala were critically acclaimed but unsuccessful at the box office. But he came back to victory through movies including Ram Lakhan, Tridev, and Parinda, which won him the Filmfare award for best actor.
