Jafal Rashed Al-Kuwari provided early help and direction. He was one of the players that took a penalty kick in the 2011 AFC Champions League penalty shootout against Jeonbuk, scoring after the ball bounced off the top post. The victory guaranteed Al Sadd a berth in the FIFA Club World Cup as Asia’s representative. After the match ended 0-0, he was chosen to take one of the penalty kicks in the third-place match between Al Sadd and Kashiwa Reysol. Al Sadd won the penalty shootout 5-3. Hassan Al Haydos made his Olympic debut for Qatar in 2007, coming off the bench to score a late goal against Japan in the 2008 Summer Olympic Qualifiers to help his side salvage a 2-1 victory. He appeared as a second-half replacement in two further matches in the campaign, one against Saudi Arabia and one against Vietnam, when he scored a goal. Al Haydos also played an important role as captain in the 2012 Summer Olympic Qualifiers, scoring a goal against India in the preliminary round.
