Felipe Abdiel Baloy Ramrez, a former defender for Panama’s national team, was born on February 24, 1981. He scored Panama’s first-ever goal against England in the 2018 World Cup. He was the second youngest of his seven siblings, and after relocating from the San Martin neighborhood, he was raised in the populated neighborhood of Cerro Batea in the San Miguelito area.

Club Career
Early Career
He began playing football at the age of 18 with the ANAPROF team Eurokickers, but his time there was short because the team was demoted that season.
As a member of the Panama U-20 team, he later relocated to Sporting ’89, where he caught the attention of Colombian international representative Luis Felipe Posso. Posso subsequently signed Baloy to his agency, which opened doors for Baloy in Colombia.
Colombia
Baloy relocated to Colombia in 2001 at the age of 19 to play for Envigado in the Copa Mustang. Before joining Independiente Medelln, he spent a year playing for Antioquia. He saw greater success at Medelln; in the 2003 Copa Libertadores, DIM came in third. He was signed by Grêmio in Brazil in 2003.
Brazil
Baloy began his professional career in Brazil with Grêmio, where he competed in the 2003–2004 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A season. He placed 20th (2003) and 24th (2007). (2004). Baloy was signed by Clube Atlético Paranaense, but in 2004 he was playing for Porto Alegre, who lost in the opening round. Despite his youth, Baloy was also promoted to captain of Grêmio.
Baloy saw some success with Clube Atlético Paranaense after placing sixth in the 2005 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and participating on the team that placed second in the 2005 Copa Libertadores. However, Baloy missed the championship game because he had been signed by Monterrey and needed to go to Mexico. He served as the Curitiba team’s captain as well.
Mexico
Baloy moved to Mexico in 2005 to play for Monterrey in the Primera División (First Division). On July 30, 2005, he made his professional debut in the 1-2 C.F. Pachuca game. However, Baloy had to become used to the Mexican crowd because he was taking the place of Argentine defender Pablo Rochen, who was a fan favorite. After a few strong performances, Baloy won over the audience.
Pipe got off to a strong start in 2005 with Rayados, who finished second in the 2005 Apertura. After that season, Monterrey was no longer as competitive as they had been, but Baloy was able to stand out on the squad and was frequently referred to as one of Mexico’s top defenders.
International Career
Baloy scored Panama’s first and only goal in the World Cup thus far. He led the national squad of Panama for several years, including in Russia in 2018. He shared the stage with players like Jaime Penedo, Luis Tejada, and José Luis Garces.
Baloy participated in the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship in Argentina as a young player for the Panama U-20 team. He made his senior debut for Panama against Honduras in a UNCAF Nations Cup game in May 2001, and as of 17 November 2017, he had amassed 100 caps with 3 goals. Pipe participated in the FIFA World Cup qualifying for 2006 as a representative of Panama. Additionally, he was a member of the CONCACAF Gold Cup Best XI in 2005 and 2007.
He also played for the team that placed second in the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2007 UNCAF Nations Cup.
He was included in Panama’s preliminary 35-man roster for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in May of that year.
Later on, he was included in the final team. In the 1-6 loss against England on June 24, 2018, Baloy scored the first goal for Panama in a World Cup game. He stopped playing for the national team after Russia in 2018. He made history in Russia by becoming the oldest player to score in a World Cup game.
