Emraan Hashmi completed his schooling at Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai. Later, he went to Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai to pursue a bachelor’s of commerce (B.com).
He was turned towards acting right from his childhood. Hashmi has performed in several TV commercials as a child. Emraan worked as an assistant director in the movie Raaz before making his debut in Bollywood.

The playback singers for most of his film’s songs have been Himesh Reshammiya, K.K, Kunal Ganjawala, and Atif Aslam. His first release of 2008 was Jannat had a 100 percent opening which made it a huge success at the box office.
In 2009, His movie, Raaz – The Mystery Continues, was also a box office hit, while his 2nd movie of the year, Tum Mile, was totally flopped at the box office.
