Life Journey

The Full Story of a Football Genius known as “Origi” is presented by WOODGRAM.

Divock Origi Childhood Story and Biography gives you a complete account of notable events from his childhood to the present day.

The analysis includes his family background, life story before fame, rise to fame, relationship, and personal life.
Everyone knows his lightning pace and versatility as a striker. However, few consider Divock Origi’s biography, which is quite interesting. Okay, let’s begin.

Beginning with his birth date, Divock Okoth Origi was born in Ostend, Belgium on the 18th day of April 1995. His mother, Linda Adhiambo, and father, Mike Origi, had three children together.

He was born to sports-loving Kenyan parents who brought him into the world during the time when his father was playing professional football for KV Oostende in the Belgian pro league. He was therefore raised in the nearby Belgian municipality of Houthalen-Oost with his elder sister Natasha and younger sister Deneen.

While growing up in Houthalen-Oost, the Belgian & Kenyan national, of black ethnicity with Kenyan-Luo roots, showed the makings of a budding footballer. The ball was already in the house as soon as he started walking. He used to kick it around the house and in the garden.” Reported Mike of his son’s early interest in football.

At the age of 5, the football prodigy was enrolled in the youth system of a Belgian league team called KFC De Zwaluw Wiemesmeer, and from the age of six, he already had talent and was taller and stronger than his peers.”

Origi moved to Belgian teams, KRC Harelbeke and later KRC Genk, where his father was a professional player. During his time at KRC Genk’s youth system, Origi recorded tremendous growth in football and academics at Park Houthalen Primary School and Sint-Jan Berchmans College.

“When his school reports would arrive, I would read teachers’ comments about how good he was with the ball and how he was the best of his age group”.

Origi spent most of his youth at KRC Genk, where he trained for 9 years before moving to Lille in nearby France when he was 15 years old. As a Lille player, Origi put in impressive performances that caught the attention of Liverpool scouts.

It gave English fans no doubt that Origi would give them a run for their money after he sent Belgium to the knockout stages of the 2014 World Cup by scoring his first international goal in the 87th minute against Russia.

The English side offered him a six-year contract on the 29th of July for a fee of 10 Million pounds, and he was immediately loaned back to Lille for more first-team experience. During his loan spell with Lille in the 2014-2015 season, Origi gained valuable experience. After making 44 appearances and scoring 9 goals for Lille, he eventually joined Liverpool in the next season.

Liverpool’s Origi made his Liverpool debut as a substitute against Manchester United. In Liverpool’s 6-1 victory over Southampton, he scored his first competitive goal for Liverpool by scoring a hat-trick. You know the rest as well.

Neither Origi’s dating history nor past relationships have been recorded. Nor are there any links to his current relationship. It boils down to the fact that the forward is more concerned with taking his career to new heights.

However, Origi would make an impressive boyfriend or husband given his attributes of discipline and focus in the game of football. Divock Origi was born into a family of sports fans. Find out more about his immediate and extended family.

The father of the forward is Mike Okoth Origi. He was born on November 16th, 1967, in Nairobi, Kenya. As opposed to his son, Mike started out as a goalkeeper who turned striker for Shabana in the Kenyan Super League. Following his move to KV Oostende in 1992, he welcomed the birth of his first son and second child Divock in 1995.

He is widely regarded as the first Kenyan footballer to play in Europe. Mike has been a father and mentor to his son, who admires his dedication to football. “When I was a kid I could see my father had a lot of discipline and when you give everything to the game, the game will always respect you.” Said Divock of his father’s influence.

The father and son maintain a close relationship, with Mike showing up at most of Divock’s games to cheer him on.

Origi’s mother is Linda Adhiambo. Linda is close to her only son, whose heroics and good conduct made her stand out among mothers in both Kenya and Belgium.

Natasha and Deneen are Origi’s siblings. The elder of the siblings is Natasha. Her childhood was spent with Origi, who shared her aspirations to play football. Maliya is Origi’s niece, and she also has a daughter. Conversely, Deneen is Origi’s younger sister and one of his biggest fans.

In addition to Origi’s immediate family, he has uncles Austin, Gerald, and Anthony who played football professionally in different leagues.  Divock’s cousin Arnold Origi plays professional football for Lillestrom and the Kenya national team as a goalkeeper.

Divock is the first player of Kenyan origin to score in a World Cup match. At Boudewijn Seapark in Bruges, a baby dolphin was named “Origi”. Divock’s 88th-minute goal sent Belgium’s national team into the knockout stages of the World Cup, in a 1-0 win over Russia. Unfortunately, the Dolphin did not survive as it died just a few days later.

Kenyans and Belgians both love Divock Origi despite the latter not representing the former at international events. He makes up for this by speaking fluent Swahili to the delight of Kenyans. Additionally, he knows Flemish, a language he learned while growing up in Ostend, and has a good grasp of Dutch.

In addition to his love of family and football, Divock is passionate about psychology, specifically the workings of the human brain and how it relates to various personality types.
