2011–2021: Youth career and reserves
- Costa moved to Santo Tirso at the age of 7 after being born to Portuguese parents in Rothrist, Canton of Aargau.
- He transferred from Casa do Benfica de Póvoa de Lanhoso to the FC Porto academy in 2011.
