Gallagher joined Chelsea at the age of eight after playing for Epsom Eagles. He extended his contract with Chelsea until 2021 on October 2018. That year, he underwent minor heart surgery. He was an unused substitute in the 2019 UEFA Europa League Final, earning a winner’s medal, and was named Chelsea’s Academy Player of the Year for the 2018–19 season.
Conor signed a new three-year deal with Chelsea in August 2019 and went on loan to Charlton Athletic.
He earned the English Football League’s Young Player of the Month title for August after scoring three goals in six games in his debut month with Charlton.
