Christopher Walken was born Ronald Walken in Astoria, New York, the son of Rosalie Russell, a Scottish immigrant from Glasgow, and Paul Wälken, a German newcomer from Gelsenkirchen who had and operated Walken’s Bakery in Astoria. Walken was called after actor Ronald Colman. He was built Methodist. He and his brothers, Kenneth and Glenn, were youth actors on television in the 1950s, inspired by their mother’s hopes of stardom.
