He is widely known for playing with club Basel since 2007 until 2017. Cedric is the winning maker for his club to win the Swiss Super League championship of the 2015–16 Super League season. He has played for other clubs including, FC Luzern as well.

Early Career

Cedric Itten began his youth career with FC Black Stars Basel in 2003 before moving to BSC Old Boys a year later. He moved to Basel in February 2007 and played for their U-18 and U-21 teams. Itten played in FC Basel’s UEFA Youth League campaign in 2013–14. On August 21, 2015, he signed a three-year professional deal and joined their first team.

Cedric Itten made his league debut for Basel on February 21, 2016, in a 5–1 home win against Vaduz. On 21 February, he scored his first league goal for Basel in a 4–1 away triumph over Lugano. He won the Swiss Super League championship under Urs Fischer at the end of the 2015–16 season. It was the club’s seventh championship triumph in a row, and their 19th overall.

Basel stated on June 18, 2016, that it will loan Itten to FC Luzern until the end of the 2016–17 Swiss Super League season so that he may obtain first-team playing experience. On June 23, 2017, Basel stated that they were extending their contract with Itten until June 30, 2020, and that the loan to Luzern would be extended for another year, until the conclusion of the 2017–18 season.

Basel stated on September 13, 2017, that they have recalled striker Itten from loan due to the club’s poor start to the season. His first goal since his comeback was the winning goal for the squad in the 2017–18 Swiss Cup match against FC Chiasso at the Stadio Comunale (Chiasso).
