International Career
Oviedo participated in the CONCACAF U17 Tournament on behalf of Costa Rica in 2007. (a precursor to the CONCACAF U17 Championship). Oviedo participated in all three games, winning 2-0 over Trinidad and Tobago, 0-0 against Canada, and 2-1 against the United States.
Costa Rica qualified for the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup by finishing second in Group B. Oviedo was left from the U17 World Cup roster. Oviedo was selected for the 2009 CONCACAF U-20 Championship team two years later. Oviedo’s Costa Rica defeated Canada 2-1 before drawing 0-0 with Trinidad and Tobago and defeating Mexico 1-0 in their inaugural match.
