In 2013 when Bruce Jenner began to feel like a bottled sardine in the midst of the constant Kardashian chaos in their Calabasas home, Kris Jenner hinted he finds himself a man cave where he could get away and chill. Taking Kris up on the idea, he leased a Malibu beach house for $14,500 a month and stayed there on and off for several years.
Some years later, after improvements and updates, Bruce/Caitlyn’s former beach getaway is going to sell with bidding opening May 27th. It was previously listed at $7.995 million or for rent at $25,000 per month.
Easily identified from the hit TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians in Season 10, where the whole family hardly got together for holidays like the 4th of July, the Malibu home was where Bruce visited during his and Kris’ separation later that year and when their divorce took place in 2015.
Bruce Jenner Olympic Gold Medal
In 1972, Jenner made an exciting run at the Summer Olympic Games in Munich, West Germany (also known as the Games of the XX Olympiad.) He situated third in the Olympic trials and tenth at the Olympic Games.
Four years later, however, Jenner would reach Olympic stardom at the 1976 Summer Olympic Games in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. At the Montreal Games, he got a gold medal and set a new world record, scoring 8,634 points in the decathlon. After his win, a bystander delivered him an American flag, which he enthusiastically seized for a victory lap, a movement that has been reappeared in the Olympic games ever since.
Following his Olympic victory in 1976, Jenner has settled in the public eye through endorsements, speaking engagements, TV shows, and other outlets. After famously performing on the Wheaties cereal box, he continued guest appearances on TV series such as CHiPs and The American Sportsman. He also became one of only seven spokesmen for Wheaties.
From the late 1970s to the early 2000s, Jenner served on many television series and performed in TV movies. In 1980, Jenner made his big-screen appearance in the notorious flop Can’t Stop the Music. He later acted alongside Kris Kristofferson and Martin Sheen in the dramatic film Original Intent, which went straight to DVD and was delivered in 1992.

In more recent years, Jenner has emerged as himself on many game shows and TV reality series, most prominently with then-wife Kris Jenner, children Kendall and Kylie, and stepchildren Robert Jr., Kim, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian (Kris’s children with her first husband, Robert Kardashian), on the reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which premiered in 2007.
Jenner also has two children, Casey and Burt, from his first marriage to Chrystie Crownover (married from 1972 to 1981), and two sons, Brandon and Brody, with his second wife Linda Thompson (married from 1981 to 1985).
In October 2013, Jenner authenticated that he and his wife Kris had separated. The pair emerged to have split up the previous year. In a comment to E! News, the couple announced that “we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are divided, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one preference.” In September 2014, it was declared that the couple had officially filed for divorce.
Since his separation from sports, Jenner has also become a popular motivational speaker, television sports commentator, and author. He is head of Bruce Jenner Aviation, a firm that trades aircraft to administrators and corporations, and has composed several books, including Decathlon Challenge: Bruce Jenner’s Story and Finding the Champion Within. ‘I Am Cait’ Show
In late July 2015, I Am Cait, Jenner’s docu-series about her life as a transgender woman, premiered on E! The first episode of the series emphasizes Jenner communicating with family members getting connected to her transition and stepping into her character as a transgender spokesperson. The show, which was seen by more than two and a half million viewers on its premiere night, was well-received by reviewers and noted for its lack of high-octane drama as analyzed to Keeping Up With the Kardashians. However, I Am Cait was removed the following year.
Never shy about bestowing the details of her life, Jenner in March 2018 posted a makeup-free photo on Instagram following an operation to treat a cancerous basal cell carcinoma, leaving her nose red and raw. “I latterly had to get some sun pollution removed from my nose. PSA- always wear your sunblock,” she composed. That summer, Jenner verified that she was dating model Sophia Hutchins, who also recognizes as transgender.
In an August 2018 profile in Variety, Jenner explained how she’s been silently lobbying Washington lawmakers to reverse President Donald Trump’s ban on transgender people in the military and put protections in place for those who wish to work. “I’m very politically connected,” she replied. “Nobody really remembers it. I do it very simply because I have been so scrutinized by the liberal side of the media. I can get more things done if I don’t stick my nose into everything publicly.”

In April 2015, Jenner surfaced in an exclusive TV interview with Diane Sawyer on 20/20. During the interview with Sawyer, Jenner said that he knows as a woman, using the gender-based pronouns “he” and “we” at times while going through his private history, including his determination to have hormone treatments, his s*xual orientation and the emotional sense of talking to his children about the transition. His mother was questioned by The Associated Press, saying that she’s unequivocally proud of Jenner and that he did come out to her about his character. Other family members made supportive public statements as well.
On June 1, 2015, Jenner stated on Twitter that she is a woman, now known as Caitlyn. “I’m so happy after such a long exertion to be living my true self. Welcome to the world, Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.”
On that same day, Vanity Fair published its July 2015 cover shot of Jenner as Caitlyn, which was shot by Annie Leibovitz. Jenner told Vanity Fair providing editor Buzz Bissinger, “This shoot was about my life and who I am as a person. It’s not about the fanfare, it’s not about people encouraging in the stadium, it’s not about going down the street and everybody giving you ‘that a boy, Bruce,’ pat on the back, O.K. This is about your life.”
ESPY Awards Speech
After stating she was transgender, Jenner made her first public presentation on July 15, 2015, at the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles, where she won the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage. The award, which is titled after tennis legend Arthur Ashe and identifies individuals who “transcend sports,” was previously bestowed to prominent personalities including Muhammad Ali, Billie Jean King, and Nelson Mandela, among others.
Wearing a white Versace gown, Jenner got a standing ovation when she stepped to the stage to accept the award. In her recognition speech, she spoke about the difficulty of her transition: “I practiced hard, I competed hard, and for that people respected me. But this transition has been harder on me than anything I could assume, and that’s the case for so many others, besides me. For that reason alone, trans people earn something vital, they deserve your respect.”
She added her interest in young transgender people and called the recent stabbing death of a 17-year-old transgender young woman in Mississippi and the suicide of a 15-year-old transgender young man in Michigan. “If you want to ask me names, make jokes, doubt my purposes, go ahead because the truth is, I can take it,” Jenner replied. “But for the thousands of kids out there coming to terms with being authentic to who they are, they shouldn’t have to take it.”
Jenner also spoke about using her celebrity to send a positive message of tolerance, and she encouraged other athletes to do the same.
Washing away tears, she praised her family for their support including her children and mother, who were in the audience. “The most significant fear in Caitlyn Jenner coming out was I never needed to hurt anyone else. Most of all my family and my kids,” she stated. “I always required my children to be so proud of their dad because of what he has succeeded in his life. You guys have given so much back to me, you’ve given me so much help, I’m so thankful to have all of you in my life. Thank you.”
