Debut and breakthrough
In 2012, Aneri Vajaani made her acting debut as Paakhi in Kaali – Ek Punar Avatar. It was based on the famous Nitish Katara murder case and finished in 2013. She then portrayed Shanaya Khan in the 2013 television series Crazy Stupid Ishq, with Hiba Nawab, Harsh Rajput, and Vishal Vashishtha.
From 2014 to 2015, Aneri Vajaani played Nisha Gangwal Kumar alongside Mishkat Varma in Nisha Aur Uske Cousins. Her portrayal as Nisha garnered her a nomination for an Indian Telly Award for Fresh New Face – Female. In Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya Season 7, she portrayed Arushi, a swimmer.
