Life of Amir Abedzadeh
Amir Abedzadeh is the son of great Iranian national team goalie Ahmad Reza Abedzadeh. According to astrologers, Amir Abedzadeh’s zodiac sign is Taurus. He is currently unattached, neither is he in a relationship. We don’t know anything about his prior relationships or previous engagements. He has no offspring, according to our records.
Amir Abedzadeh has lofty ambitions and ideals that he visualizes every day. He is certain that he can reach them. His attention is continually drawn to how he might develop himself on a regular basis. He realizes, sooner or later, that his thinking will place him in a position to attain his objectives.
He used to go into great depth about his aspirations. He would specifically state what they are and how he intends to get there. He feels it is now more about execution and doing. As his concentration is fixed on improvement, he understands that keeping the appropriate beliefs and patience will allow him to enjoy the ride while working hard towards those goals.
Amir Abedzadeh has had an eventful football career. The Martimo goalkeeper’s tenacity on “following his dream” saw him try his luck in England, the United States of America, and his own country before finding continuous top-level football in Madeira. Amir Abedzadeh is one of just a few players who have gone to a World Cup.
His ambition and plan were to perform in Europe no matter what, and he was prepared for an uncertain adventure. He had an incredible time in England, the United States, and Iran. However, he knew he had to go to Europe during his time in Iran. Initially he had no idea how he was going to get there, or that he would begin in Portugal.
He was once part of a training session at Persepolis when he got into talking with a fellow goalie, Nilson Junior (former Vitória Guimarães, Moreirense, and Uniao de Madeira goalkeeper).
He told him he’d love to play in Portugal and that he’d ask him about the skill level, quality, and living there. Ironically, he moved to Portugal a few years later through a buddy who was playing in the second division and linked him with his agency.
That is how he began his career in Portugal, and he always knew he would end up in a top-tier league; it was a chance for him to start somewhere with high competition and quality.
His main goal is playing in Spain, especially for Real Madrid. He says he has always liked to play for the Galacticos since he was a child. He takes it seriously and talks to himself every day about that.

Club Career
Abedzadeh attended the Persepolis Youth Academy from 2006 to 2007, having previously trained with his father since he was seven years old. He went to the United Kingdom when he was 15, and after two months with the third-tier club Brentford and a trial with Arsenal, he joined Tottenham Hotspur’s academy squad in 2009. Abezadeh departed Tottenham in the same year that the club signed Italian goalkeeper Mirko Ranieri.
Abedzadeh also played for amateur youth sides Dinamo Dorigo, London Tigers, and Persian FC, the latter of which was a member of the G.E. Roberts Enfield Football Alliance League.
Abedzadeh was unable to secure a work visa in the UK, so he traveled to the United States in 2011, signing with the Los Angeles Blues in the USL Pro, where his father was an assistant coach. On June 7, 2011, he made his debut with Los Angeles Blues 23 in a USL Premier Development League match against Orange County Blue Star. He made eight saves but allowed five goals and was given a yellow card. He had the chance to join Chivas USA of Major League Soccer in 2012, but he chose to prolong his contract with Chivas.
On July 15, 2012, Abedzadeh signed a three-year contract with Persepolis. He competed in the AFC Vision Asia U21 Tehran Premier League for Persepolis U21. In a game against Niroye Zamini U21, he scored a goal for Persepolis U21. Abedzadeh left Persepolis in 2014 without having played a single game for the club.
Abedzadeh signed a four-year deal with Rah Ahan on July 3, 2014. He worked under the guidance of his father, Ahmad Reza Abedzadeh, who was also a goalkeeping coach at Rah Ahan. He made his professional debut on September 19, 2014, against his previous club Persepolis, coming on as a 34th-minute substitute for the injured Igor Nenezi. Rah Ahan released him after the end of the game.
Abedzadeh joined Maritimo in the Portuguese Primeira Liga on January 23, 2017 after impressing with Barreirense in the Campeonato de Portugal. He is the club’s second Iranian goalkeeper signing, following Alireza Haghighi, who joined in 2016. He made his debut in a Portuguese League Cup match in September 2017.
On 14 October 2017, he made his Taça de Portugal debut against Torcatense in the third round. As Martimo won 1–0, Abedzadeh maintained a clean sheet and was named man of the match. Several times throughout his career in Portugal, he was named the best goalkeeper in the Primeira Liga.

International Career
Abedzadeh was called up to the Iranian national under-17 football team’s training for the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup at Kish Island, but was never invited back.
Abedzadeh spoke on his chances of playing for Iran’s national under-23 football team: “They told me again again that they wanted to bring in guys who have been together for a long time and are well acquainted… They also stated that if we qualify, they will call in and evaluate fresh players. So, ideally, they can beat Iraq and qualify for the Olympics, and then I’ll get my opportunity. I believe the issue is that I spent the previous four years in England and they were unable to watch me play as much as the local players. That has been a huge letdown for me.”
Abedzadeh was a member of Iran’s squad for the 2014 AFC U-22 Championship, although he did not appear in any matches. He was invited to the Olympic team in 2015 for the 2016 AFC U-23 Championship qualifying.
Abedzadeh was invited into the Iran national squad for the first time on November 5, 2017, for friendlies against Panama and Venezuela.
He was nominated to Iran’s final roster for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in June 2018. On May 19, 2018, he made his debut against Uzbekistan.
