Ali Fazal completed his schooling at, The Doon School, Dehra Dun, and also attended La Martiniere College in Lucknow and He was a basketball player during his school time, and he always wished to represent India at the International level. After completed his schooling, his parents aspired Ali to pursue Engineering, but he anyhow influenced his parents and ended his graduation in economics from St. Xavier’s College.
Ali had an acting bug in him since his school days as he used to participate in school plays. Fazal was chosen to play the character of Trinculo in Shakespeare’s play, The Tempest. In 2013, Fazal appeared in the romantic comedy movie Baat Bann Gayi, which was considered a parody of Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors. Fazal portrayed the dual character of Kabir, a successful novelist from Singapore, and Rasiya Bihari, a local don. In the year 2014, he appeared in a supporting character alongside Vidya Balan in the comedy-drama Bobby Jasoos.
The same year Fazal performed in the movie Sonali Cable opposite Rhea Chakraborty, where he played the role of Raghu. His acting got mixed reviews from critics. Ali next took the lead character in the psychological horror-thriller Khamoshiyan in 2015.
