Known professionally as Albert-Mboyo Sambi Lokonga, he is a Belgian professional footballer who plays for Premier League club Arsenal and Belgium national football team. Born in Brussels, Belgium on October 22nd, 1999, the 22-year-old began his football career at the youth academy of Anderlecht when he was eleven years old.
It was almost a decade later, in 2017, that Sam signed his first professional contract with the club and proceeded on to make his first-team debut against Eupen in the Belgian First Division A. He made 78 appearances for Les Mauves et Blancs before he pounced on a big-money move to Premier League giants Arsenal in the summer of 2021.

Leander Dendoncker Biography, Age, Wife, Career, Net Worth & Wiki
No worries, Woodgram is here for you – at your service. We would like to begin now, without further ado.
He is known by the nickname – Mister cool – among Life Story Enthusiasts. As well, the full names of Albert-Mboyo Sambi Lokonga are as follows: Albert-Mboyo Sambi Lokonga. A Belgian professional footballer came into this world on the 22nd day of October 1999. Albert Sambi Lokonga was born to his mother, Josee Lokonga, and his father, Desire Lokonga. They live They lived in the city of Brussels in the Republic of Belgium. There is no doubt that this is Belgium’s capital and the largest municipality in the country.
During his childhood, Sambi Lokonga was born into a family of many children, the result of the union between his parents. The two people he holds in the highest regard are his parents. Josee Lokonga (Sambi’s mom) and Desire Lokonga (Sambi’s dad).
In his youth Lokonga, along with his parents and siblings, spent most of his days in his hometown, the quaint town of Verviers. This is located in the Belgian province of Liege. When he was a little boy, people described Sambi as someone who was someone you could never get bored with, all because of the instruction he received about family companionship as a child.
Among all of his siblings (brothers and sisters), he was particularly close to one of them. It is no other than his brother Paul-Jose M’Poku (who is a professional footballer) that will do the honors for him.
Paul-Jose M’Poku is the oldest of the M’Poku siblings. As a matter of fact, he is called upon to be both a Big Brother and a Superhero at the same time. Quite simply, Paul-Jose M’Poku was the type of person who never let little Sambi wander in the dark alone.
In general, it is a generally accepted notion that mistakes are a normal part of life. Paul-Jose M’Poku is the type of brother who takes responsibility for his mistakes – (which you can read about in our Bios later). It was important for him to ensure that his little brother (Sambi) also gained knowledge from it.
It is possible that you are not aware of the fact that Albert Sambi Lokonga also spent his boyhood days with another brother. Fabrice Lokonga spent his boyhood days with his elder brother Albert. Well, tell you more about him in the later part of our Biography.
The Belgian footballer comes from a middle-class family. According to research, his father is a very versatile individual. We learned he worked at different jobs to support his family. Both Lokonga’s parents are hardworking. Let’s find out what they do for a living.
Firstly, Sambi’s father is a Belgian air traffic controller. Desire Lokonga worked for a bottled water company before getting this job. Meanwhile, Albert Sambi Lokonga’s Mother (loses) is a career woman. In addition to her husband, she must be extremely proud of her son’s accomplishments.
You can tell by his appearance that he is of African descent. Chris Nkunku, whose Congolese blood runs through his veins, lusts like no other. Albert Sambi Lokonga is also of Congolese descent. They are of Afro-Belgian descent.
If you don’t know, his dad (Desire Lokonga) used to play football in DR Congo. Thus, it is not surprising to see his three sons (Albert, Fabrice, and Paul) following in his footsteps. His parents and the entire family lived in the Democratic Republic of the Congo when Paul-Jose M’Poku was born, as did Sambi Lokonga.
Sambi Lokonga’s brother (Paul-Jose M’Poku) was born in 1992, which means he was born four years before the First Congo War began. Fabrice (his elder brother) was born in 1995, a year before Congo’s civil war began. Due to the war, Desire and Josee Lokonga decided to migrate their families to Belgium in order to secure their children’s future.
Albert Sambi Lokonga’s mother (Jose) gave birth to him two years after the Congo War, also known as Africa’s First World War. The decision made by Sambi’s parents saved the entire family. In case you missed it, Albert Sambi Lokonga has similar family roots to these footballers.
Youri Tielemans Biography, Age, Father, Wife, Career, Net Worth & Wiki
In this category are Belgians such as Christian Benteke, Dedryck Boyata, Romelu Lukaku, Christian Kabasele, Michy Batshuayj and Youri Tielemans. From the non-Belgian side, we found these names (European footballers) with Congolese heritage.
Kevin Mbabu, Claude Makelele, Denis Zakaha, and ex-Chelsea star Jose Bosingwa are among them.
After reaching compulsory school age, he was inducted into a learning system that suited him. Back then, he learned the game of football in the Pre-Javez neighborhood, which is where he mastered it. His eldest brother (aged 16) had just joined a big London club – Tottenham Hotspur academy – before Sambi began his soccer education at Anderlecht.
Paul-Jose M’Poku had a disastrous career with the Spurs. Sambi Lokonga’s parents considered it a grave mistake to send their 16-year-old son to England at that age.
Desire Lokonga (his mother) and Josee Lokonga (his father) vowed never to repeat such a mistake. Paul-lose M’Poku’s failure at Spurs served as a cautionary tale for Sambi, who learned from his brother’s other mistakes.
The plan to move to England remained a target, but it would never come too early, say his mother and father. When this youngster reached the age of ten, he had already played so many games of street football that he had moved his childhood dream to the next level. Sambi, aged ten in the year 2010 and following a successful trial, got enrolled with Anderlecht’s youth academy after a successful trial.
It has also been suggested that he would also be eligible to join Standard Liege – an academy that has produced stars such as M’Poku’s older brother (Paul-lose M’Poku) and Axel. He was astonished to find out that his sibling did not want to join the same academy as him.
During an interview with the media, Sambi revealed the reason why his parents refused him to join his brother’s club. He explained it as follows:
My father decided not to put us in the same club so that we do not have to compete with each other. If I were to imagine for a moment that my brother has a problem with Standard Liege’s management, I might suffer the consequences in the future.
The young prodigy worked his way up through the ranks at Anderlecht in a similar manner to Leander Dendoncker. Through his dedication and hard work, Sambi has emerged as the most important player in his age group as a result of his dedication and hard work.
There was only one other player who could match up with Sambi in that Anderlecht academy. This is none other than Jeremy Doku, the brilliant striker from Nigeria. When it comes to speed dribbling with arrogance – especially as a way of annoying opponents, Doku does it better than anyone else I’ve seen.
The most advanced midfielder in the Anderlecht youth system was Albert Sambi, who was considered the best player in the midfield. The playmaking abilities of Sambi propelled him to graduation in the year 2018 as a result of his deep-lying playmaking ability.
As soon as the midfield prodigy graduated from the Anderlecht academy, he immediately became one of the pillars of the first team for Anderlecht. In the short-term, Lokonga sees himself as a deep-lying and playmaking leader – as opposed to an advanced midfielder. After retiring as a player from Manchester City, the Legend got a job as a player-coach at Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht.
From the moment he got the job as a manager, Vincent Kompany began having an integral role in Lokonga’s professional life. In one day, the captain of Anderlecht – the person who is Hendrik Van Crombrugge – got injured seriously. Kompany chose Lokonga, despite Lokonga’s advancing age, to lead the Belgian club.
Prior to the decision, no one knew who Sambi Lokonga was – as the kind of guy who didn’t give big speeches in the dressing room. Even though he had a personality of his own, everyone wanted him to lead the team- all because of the exceptional qualities he possessed on the field. In fact, wearing the captain’s armband was a tremendous honor for him. As a captain of his club, Lokonga had his first taste of leadership in no time.
As a result, he was able to sort out a noisy quarrel between himself and two of his teammates – Lukas Nmecha and Michel Vlap – on the pitch. The fact that one is a leader of the team also comes with added scrutiny – something Lokonga has experienced.
At one point in time, he found himself at the center of controversy once upon a time. The fans accused Sambi of disrespecting the rainbow armband issued by the league. As a captain, Sambi Lokonga has shown a lack of support for the LGBTQ community by covering their rainbow captain band with Anderlecht’s usual white armband.
His actions resulted in anger on the part of the League, as was expected. They summoned Lokonga to explain what he had done – whether it was because of a superstitious belief or whether he had done it deliberately due to his dislike of LGBT. Sambi had promised to wear the rainbow armband in the next match as a gesture of peace.
After watching the controversy surrounding Sambi, the Arsenal manager decided to cast his summer transfer nets into the Belgian sea this summer. It was initially Arteta’s intention to bring Houssem Aouar to the Emirates, but then he changed his mind when he was tempted by a deal with Lokonga.
A few days ago, on the 19th day of July 2021, the news (Arsenal signed Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht) became the headline for the day. As a result of his signing, Sambi will join the likes of Nuno Tavares, who also signed for the London big boys – around the summer of 2021. In addition, he would be proud to have a partnership with Thomas Parley and Smith Rowe – a deadly midfield combination that can lead to goals.
There was no doubt that the time was right for him to join the London club. In addition to Sambi Lokonga’s parents, his older brothers must have also given him their blessings. Thus, there is a high probability of success in the English Premier League. I believe that one day, Sambi will be as dominant in midfield as Vaya Toure and Kevin De Bruyne are right now.
If he is given some trust by the coach as well as the supporters, there is no doubt that he would develop into a superstar. This is the reason why Arsenal signed Sambi Lokonga. Gunners’ recruitment policy has been rightly scrutinized in recent years due to bad transfer decisions made by the club.
Even so, the signing of Lokonga might be a sign of a change for the better for the team. Besides being a passer, he is also a schemer and a reader of the game. In short, the rest of Sambi’s biography can be considered history.
It is one of the best feelings in the world for a footballer to be able to find a person they love (especially after they have made it to the top). In Sambi’s case, he is (at the time of writing this) on the lookout for a girlfriend or a spouse. We can expect that in the near future, his career at Arsenal will stabilize. We think that (very soon), Sambi may make public who his girlfriend or wife to be will be.
It is not unlikely that the Bailer will want to have children since he is likely to have third-generation footballers in his family. Who is Sambi, apart from everything related to football? This section will reveal some more facts that will help you get to know him better.
First of all, do you love animals in general? If you do, then you are not alone. In fact, Sambi is one of the biggest animal lovers around. That is something we noticed during one of his visits to Saif Ahmad Belhasa, who is a billionaire and entrepreneur in Dubai.
In his spare time, Sambi enjoys relaxing by the poolside, as well as playing football. This is because he always does that in order to reduce stress and speed up the recovery process.
During this time, Sambi keeps all by himself – in the hopes of restoring his inner strength – in order to strengthen himself. For Sambi, it doesn’t matter whether he is on the water or in the desert. This Belgian is well acquainted with dolphin behaviors, and when it comes to interacting with the friendly aquatic mammal, he certainly knows how to do it.
It has been shown that he is not someone who is excessively proud of his fortunes, according to research. Sambi is another one of those people who dislikes talking about his wealth in terms of self-gratification.
It is clear, however, that he knows how to spend his money well. This is evident from the cars that we see around him. In one of his inspirational videos that contain a combination of his personality and lifestyle, we spotted what looks like Sambi’s car in one of the clips. Truly, the Belgian is a man of class.
One quality of a close-knit household is the fact that they lean on each other in moments of need – and always have each other’s back. Sambi’s family is a circle of strength and love.
We will tell you more about the immediate and extended family (relatives) of our subject in this section of our biography. So without further ado, let’s get started.
It is believed that football begins with the head of the house as far as the family is concerned. Sambi’s father – Desire Lokonga – started out as a professional footballer in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Football is a sport he knows inside out since he is a man who knows the intricacies of the game.
When the First Congo War broke out in his country, he had no choice but to focus on saving his family and not his career.
Desire found it hard to deal with retirement from football in the long run. In response, he vowed to continue living his dreams with the help of his three sons.
It would seem that managing a family made up of male footballers (both active and retired), including daughters, would also be a challenge. Thankfully, Sambi’s mother – losee Lokonga – sees it as a manageable situation. In the last few years, she has come a long way. She is the mother that everyone wishes they had.
One of the most popular of his siblings is Fabrice, and the other is Paul-lose. In spite of the fact that they aren’t as social as the Pogba brothers, these men have their own style or swagger that sets them apart from others.
The middle one of the siblings, Fabrice, is the one who is less popular than the two. He is three years younger than Paul-lose (his older brother) and four years older than Albert – the man whose life is the subject of this biography. The tallest of Albert’s brothers is Fabrice while the strongest of his brothers is Albert himself. In addition to that, he is also believed to be the widest – thanks to his claim that he did Taekwondo when he was a child.
In this section of our Bio, you can learn more about Albert Sambi Lokonga’s brothers. We will begin with Paul-lose M’Poku – the eldest member of the family.
The 19th day of April 1992 was the day on which he was born in Kinshasa, Zaire (DR Congo). His age makes him seven years older than his little brother – who is the focus of our Biography. Paul-lose, unlike his younger brothers Fabrice and Albert, bears the surname Mpoku instead of Fabrice.
In spite of having his family nationalize in Belgium (and being a Belgian citizen himself), Paul chose to play football for his motherland, the Democratic Republic of Congo. When I was filling out this biography, he (a winger) had just signed for the Turkish club – Konyaspor.
It was once upon a time that football witnessed a rivalry between the sons of Josee and Desire. There was a period between 2017 and 2020 when Albert and Paul competed against each other with their Anderlecht and Standard Liege shirts. Although they were blood brothers, they did not compete under the same flag. Sometimes, we tend to overlook the fact that there is a third brother. Fabrice was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the same country as his elder brother Paul-Jose Mpoku.
Aleksandar Mitrović Biography, Age, Height, Career, Net Worth & Wiki
He was welcomed into the world by Desire and Losee on the 8th of January 1995, which means that he is four years older than Albert. In addition to his elder and younger brothers, Fabrice is also a footballer – though he has not had the same success as them. At the time that I am writing this bio, he is playing for Erpeldange, a football club in Luxembourg.
The records from sources suggest that his name was Eliezer Mpoku. He is the little cousin of Albert Sambi, and he is a defensive midfielder born in 2001. Eliezer Mpoku chose not to leave DR Congo for Belgium, but rather to settle in Switzerland, his country of birth.
Melissa is the name that she goes by. The beautiful lady is Paul-Jose M’Poku’s wife. There is research that indicates that she – together with her husband – loves to go on desert tours. One of those holiday trips was during the time when Melissa was pregnant with their son, Isaiah. As a wife to her husband, Melissa Mpoku is more than just that. Our research revealed that she once played the role of a fitness trainer – to her lover – while conducting the survey.
His name is Isaiah M’Poku, and he is the son of Paul-Jose M’Poku and Melissa M’Poku. It is important to note that Isaiah is more than just a nephew to Sambi. He often refers to him as his son because of his close relationship with him. Isaiah is most likely to be the first member of his family’s third generation to become a professional footballer. It should not be forgotten that Samba’s father was a former professional footballer.
In the context of his first visit to Congo – as a professional footballer, he had the opportunity to enjoy his parents’ hometown. During the visit, Sambi got a chance to meet his extended family for the first time. The information from the internet indicates a lack of documentation about the identity of Samba’s relatives. However, one thing is certain: they are the backbone of his supporters back in Congo, and they form the grassroots of the movement.
Danny Welbeck has been Sambi’s nickname for a long time. The reason for this is that he has the same hair cut as the ex-Manchester United and Arsenal striker. He also has Danny Welbeck’s old Arsenal number 23 on his jersey, in case you weren’t aware of that.
Mind you, that is not the only nickname he goes by. As a reflection of his first name, Albert, his friends also refer to him as Babert or Alberto. The name Simbi was given to him by his mother, and there is no doubt that she could have done a better job! Speaking about the reason for the name, the Bailer said;
She told me that they called quite a few kings in the past by that name.
As a final word, fans nicknamed Simbi Mister Cool, because he looks relaxed all the time. During the time that he spent with Anderlecht, Sambi wore the number 48 for a reason. He is using that number to refer to the postcode of his town – NDLA: 4800.
The Lokonga family has lived in Verviers, a town that has contributed to Sambi’s success, for years. The other day, on a beautiful Thursday evening, Simbi received a prestigious award from his hometown, Verviers, in which he received the Lean Voisin Trophy. Verviers is a town that never forgets its heroes.
Lokonga is very religious, as are many footballers with Congo African roots. Since he believes in the Christianity faith and the raising of their hands to signal – a sign of praise to God – is not an issue with him.

Conclusion
Albert Sambi Lokonga was born into a football family. The father of the boy, Desire Lokonga, was a former footballer who had his career in the Democratic Republic of the Congo before the First Congo War began.
As Sambi was living a much-improved life in Belgium, Losee (his mother) and Desire (his father) gave birth to him. Desire struggled with retirement at the time, so he made sure that Sambi and his brother lived up to the family dream.
Sambi’s elder brother, Paul-Jose M’Poku, ensured that he learned life values from his elder brother. When it came to his siblings (including Fabrice, his immediate younger sibling), he was the one who led by example -and by example, he created a picture of what can be achieved.
This didn’t happen without Paul making career mistakes and ensuring that his brothers view his mistakes as a potential learning experience. Now that Sambi has made the right decision, he is extremely glad – that he has made the right choice. Sambi’s success would not have been possible without the help of his parents and big brothers.
