Abhimanyu Dassani (born February 21, 1990) is a Hindi film actor from India. He made his acting debut in 2018 with the action film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, for which he received the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Abhimanyu is the son of actress Bhagyashree and Himalay.

He has recently appeared in the Netflix romantic comedy film Meenakshi Sundareshwar in 2021 and the action film Nikamma in 2022. Abhimanyu Dassani is a film director and actor from India. Early Life

Abhimanyu Dassani was born in Mumbai on Wednesday, February 21, 1990 (age 30 as of 2020). His astrological sign is Pisces. He attended Mumbai’s Jamnabai Narsee School and Mithibai College to pursue a degree in finance. Abhimanyu studied acting at the New York Film Academy and The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute after graduating (California). He has also taken acting classes at Anupam Kher’s acting school. Abhimanyu began working at the age of 16 years. Before becoming an actor, he had established a number of enterprises. Dassani began with an event management film, then moved on to a scrap metal reselling business, which was followed by ventures such as the establishment of a football field.

Career

Dassani, who is from Mumbai, began his career as an assistant to filmmaker Rohan Sippy on Dum Maaro Dum and Nautanki Saala! He attended the New York Film Academy as well as the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

Dassani made his feature film debut in the action-comedy Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, directed by Vasan Bala. It premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival in the Midnight Madness section, where it received the People’s Choice Award: Midnight Madness. The film was also shown at the MAMI Film Festival in 2018. He did all of the stunts himself and spent days watching old action movies to become acquainted with the genre.

While filming, he shattered a finger and dislocated his shoulder. According to Firstpost’s Pradeep Menon, “he dominates the screen nicely” and “his appearance matches the role of a person who hasn’t had enough meaningful contacts with the actual world.”

Dassani starred as the male protagonist in the Netflix romantic comedy Meenakshi Sundareshwar, with Sanya Malhotra. The film was panned for its stereotypical portrayal of Tamil people.

Dassani co-starred in Nikamma, which was released on June 17, 2022, alongside Shilpa Shetty and Shirley Setia. He will also appear in the comedy-drama Aankh Micholi as part of an ensemble cast that includes Mrunal Thakur and others.
